My sewing is done for now! Hope you like it Jay and Ka'eo!

So this month I decided to make something special for my best friend! I don't have very good sewing skills, but this is what I came up with! First, I made this bag with help from my Mom.

The Bag!

Here is a close up of the button!

Next I made a Rag Quilt for her son Ka'eo

Here are the close ups of the squares of fabric that I used.

It was so much fun!!! I will have to keep doing this!

Left over Turkey pot pie

So you have made a turkey roast or just turkey. Need an idea to use the left overs from it? I have exactly what you are looking for!!!!
Turkey Pot pie

1/3 cup margarine or butter
1/3 cup of flour
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp salt1/4 tsp pepper
1 3/4 cup left over juice from your turkey. Turkey broth
2/3 cup milk2 cups of left over Turkey from either a roast or just a normal turkey
1 (9 inch) Pie crust from the frozen section or make your own.
1/2 (10 oz.) pkg veggies with peas/carrots/green beans or whatever you like
1 potato peeled and sliced into small cubs.
Heat butter over low heat until melted. Blend in flour, onion, salt, and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in broth and milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Stir in turkey, frozen vegetables, and potatoes; reserve. Line pie pan with crust; brick with a fork. Pour turkey filling into crust. Place second crust over top. Roll edges and flute. Cut slits in top. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes.

Southern Fried Chicken Strips

1 egg
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1-1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
2 lbs chicken tenderloins ( I actually only use one chicken breast and I cut it in strips and that usually feeds us for a meal if I get fries too. However, if you have a larger family, you will need about 2 lbs, which is about 2 chicken breasts.)
Oil for Deep-fat Frying (I just use any oil I can find in a sauce pan heated up enough to fry evenly).
2 Tbsp. Grated Parmesan Cheese (Optional, I usually don't do that part)
In a shallow bowl, whisk egg and buttermilk. In a separate shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic, powder, pepper, salt and paprika. Dip chicken in egg mixture the flour mixture.

In an electric skillet heat oil to 375 degrees. Fry chicken a few pieces at a time, for 2-3 minutes on each side or until no longer pink. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with cheese.

Like I said, I usually just fry the chicken in oil on the stove in a sauce pan because I don't own a fryer.
