I got this from Pinterest and where I don't exactly have a picture of said pancakes.... I got the recipe from this website.
I kidnapped her picture from the website,
but here is the recipe:
IHOP pancakes
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Baking soda
pinch of salt
1 egg, beaten
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. melted butter
1/4 c. sugar
Stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix the
egg with the buttermilk and add to the flour mixture, stirring only
until smooth. Add the melted butter and sugar. Fry on a greased griddle.
Serves 4.
I absolutely loved them!!! A trick I use on a daily basis. I never keep buttermilk in my home for very long because I never use it and it goes bad. So I take 1 cup of milk and 1 tbs of vinegar and mix them together then let them sit for about 5 minutes while I make up the rest of my recipe. It's the closest thing I can get to buttermilk on a whim, but then I don't have to run to the store when I realize I don't have any. I make recipes the day I see them, usually without making sure I have the exact item or not. I have learned to improvise and have found that improvisation actually turns out better. Good luck in your yummy adventures. Will post another good one from Pinterest soon!!!
